Europe’s rising stars set to compete at #EuroVolleyU18M in Zlín
2018 CEV U18 Volleyball European Championship - Men
Zlín, Czech Republic, April 6, 2018. The 2018 edition of the #EuroVolleyU18M is about to start in the Czech Republic as well where the hosts will play the national teams of Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Belarus and Germany in an effort to stay in contention for the medals that will be at stake at the end of next week. The matches of Pool II take place in Púchov, Slovakia before the competition reaches its climax in Zlin with all classification and medal matches.
Live streaming of all matches will be available here.
“Our main goal is to make it among the top eight. After that, we will see,” said the head coach of the Czech national team, Jiří Zach. “Germany seem to be the toughest opponent in our pool, whilst the other teams should be at our level and the final result of those matches will depend on us. Turkey, Belarus, Bulgaria and Greece played at the U17 European Championship in Konya last year but at this age everything changes quickly, so it is very difficult to make any predictions.”
Hüseyin Düzceler, coach of Turkey: “We finished in third place at the U17 European Championship last year, so we would like to win a medal again, but our goal is now even higher.”
Nikolay Ivanov, coach of Bulgaria: “We came here to achieve success for Bulgaria and we hope that the result will be the best possible. Everyone on our team is ready for the start of the championship.”
Stefanos Nanas, coach of Greece: “Our goal is to improve on the seventh place we achieved at the last championship. We have been working hard and came here to achieve this goal.”
Aliaksei Kavaliou, coach of Belarus: “Everything here is well organised and we are are looking forward to the start of this championship. We would like to take one of the three medals but all the teams are of the highest quality, so we will see if we can manage to make this happen.”
Matus Kalny, coach of Germany: “We are looking forward to the start of the tournament. We would like to play our best and to progress to the next stage of the championship.”
