Lausanne, Switzerland, and Luxembourg, January 31, 2018 – The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) will showcase the sport of Snow Volleyball in PyeongChang, South Korea by hosting Snow Volleyball Night on February 14, 2018 at the Austria House.

Sofia, Bulgaria, February 13, 2018. The Drawing of Lots for the 2018 CEV U17 Volleyball European Championship – Women took place on Tuesday morning at Vitosha Park Hotel in Sofia, Bulgaria. Sofia is the only city hosting the tournament, which is to run from April 13 to 21. The Drawing of Lots divided 12 National teams in two pools of six each.
CEV Board of Administration member and Jury President Zdeslav Barac supervised the Drawing of Lots ceremony together with European Sports Organising Commission (ESOC) member, Mr Slobodan Milosevic and high-ranking officials of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 7, 2018 – Lille’s Stade Pierre Mauroy has been selected as the venue for the inaugural FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League Finals, from July 4-8, 2018.
Home to French Ligue 1 football team Lille OSC, the state-of-the-art Stade Pierre Mauroy opened in 2012. Located in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, the multi-purpose stadium features a retractable roof and has hosted a number of elite sporting events, including rugby, basketball, handball and tennis.
Following the decision, FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° said:
“Stade Pierre Mauroy reflects our vision for the Volleyball Nations League perfectly. It is an advanced, modern stadium which will give fans an unrivalled experience, whether they are experiencing the atmosphere live or watching at home.
“The FIVB aims to be at the cutting edge of sport entertainment and we firmly believe that State Pierre Mauroy gives us the perfect platform to achieve this goal.”
By selecting Stade Pierre Mauroy as a destination for the Volleyball Nations League Finals, the FIVB continues to push the boundaries of technology, innovation and broadcasting. Spectators will witness the elite athleticism of each nation’s best players and see volleyball like never before, through new angles and replays. The FIVB is working with IMG to produce its content in-house, maximising quality and promoting a compelling, on-court narrative, which is easy for fans to engage with and understand.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 6, 2018) – USA Volleyball has hired current Brigham Young University men’s assistant coach Luka Slabe to serve as the U.S. Women’s National Team assistant coach under head coach Karch Kiraly. Slabe will assume his role with the national team upon completion of BYU’s collegiate season.
Kiraly is excited that Slabe has agreed to join the coaching staff, bringing with him a long and successful resume as a head coach in the European professional leagues and with the Slovenia men’s national team before his current role at BYU.
